Data Center
SECURITY
- Facility is staffed 24/7/365
- Protected by perimeter fencing
- Centralized security at loading docks and main entry points
- Digital video recording of all personnel at all time
- Digital video recording archived
- Custom security solution available for dedicated access
- External mechanical yard components within a fenced area with barriers
- Biometric controls used to gain access
- Keycard protocols, and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitor access to every one of our data centers.
- Only authorized data center personnel are granted access credentials to our data centers. No one else can enter the production area of the
- datacenter without prior clearance and an appropriate escort.
- Every data center employee undergoes multiple and thorough background security checks before they’re hired.
- We require that the networking and security teams working in our data centers be certified. We also require that they be thoroughly
- experienced in managing and monitoring enterprise level networks.
- Certified Network Technicians are trained to the highest industry standards.
- SAS 70 Type II / SSAE 16 Type II Audit certified
POWER
- Two independent substations
- Substation feed dedicated to data center facility
- Substations fed by independent sources on the electrical grid
- Substation feeds enter the data center facility via diverse routes
- Underground, end-to-end feeds
- Each UPS has an A and B utility feed
- UPS designed with a maintenance bypass, allowing live full replacement
- Maintenance bypass is UPS protected On-site, underground diesel fuel storage
- Multiple generators, fuel tanks and batteries also ensure seamless power continuity and 100 percent uptime
- Every data center’s HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant.
- Every 90 seconds, all the air in is circulated and filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
- Advanced fire suppression systems are designed to stop fires from spreading in the unlikely event one should occur.
- Should a total utility power outage ever occur the data centers’ power systems are designed to run uninterrupted, with every server receiving conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power.
- The UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant, with instantaneous failover if the primary UPS fails.
- If an extended utility power outage occurs, our routinely tested, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely.
NETWORK
- Carrier-neutral facility
- High quality blended internet service offered
- Internal meet-me-room (MMR) or telecom exchange point
- Core network equipment protected from customer access
- Telecom conduit enters facility through:
- Underground and concrete encased
- Dual paths
- Diverse paths
- Diverse entry points (300+ feet between entries)
- Data transport between facilities available
- Data transport is diverse and redundant
- A minimum of 6 fiber carriers enter the data centers at disparate points to guard against service failure.
STRUCTURAL
- Data Center is a master planned, purpose built facility
- Each generator located in secure, isolated rooms
- Each UPS system located in secure, isolated rooms
- Walls built to withstand 160 MPH wind
- Walls have at least 10 inches concrete
- Roof is at least 6.5 inches of concrete thick
- Slab design loading per SF at least 250 psf
- Raised floor point load capacity at least 5,000 lbs.
